Goal

This Workshop (by Invitation only) is primarily intended to be a place for prospective discussions about the future of net-centric M&S. We foresee the results of this workshop to be a preliminary step toward a collaboration project within the EC FP7 program (although during the workshop other options, including International or Regional will be targeted).

This initiative is a follow-up to G. Wainer’s “DEVS-WORLD” project in Canada and B. Zeigler net-centric projects in the US. Our aim is to have a similar proposal/collaboration started on the European side, in order to integrate our efforts in a worldwide platform for collaboration.

Contributions

About 10 Authors, mostly from European countries, have been invited to submit position papers explaining their views on the future of net-centric M&S, simulation and how they could contribute to this field in a collaborative project. As a common reference, authors will use the DEVS-World proposal, based on Profs. Wainer and Zeigler, which will serve as a common basis for discussions and positions.

These position papers will not be peer reviewed and may not be published on the Conference CD.

Participation

Participation to the WS is OPEN to interested parties. The number of invited authors is restricted due to time constraints. Prospective participants interested in collaboration on this subject are very welcome to attend the workshop sessions. Invited authors have been selected from a wide variety of backgrounds in the field, including methodology, middleware and applications.
